The House of Da Vinci is one of Audio Exotics’ oldest partners, since the days of founder Peter Brem. Although Peter has passed on, his spirit is carried on by Giu and Sandro. Their prime focus remains the analog turntable. The Gabriel turntable is a statement, winning accolades from The Absolute Sound, and is consistently ranked as one of the very best ever designs. Da Vinci’s latest creation, Equilibrium (EQ), dubbed as ‘the small Gabriel’, is equally outstanding. The house sound of Da Vinci is about genuine musicality, characterized by lyrical coherence, rich tonal shades, and an uncanny calmness between musical notes. It is a challenge to withstand the test of time, and the House of Da Vinci has proven itself as timeless.

Energy and Space

“It`s the silence between the notes, that holds the key to all music", said the French composer Claude Debussy. Mozart made similar conclusion. Maestro conductors in modern time such as Karajan, Bernstein, and Stokowski etc all agreed.

Music is an art. Art isn’t just about colour, but contrast. Music does not solely exist in the notes but also in pauses (silence between the notes or spacing). It is intangible in physical form but tangible in human senses. Silence has the power to punctuate notes and creates a sense of anticipation.

Thus, it is also correlated with tempo, dynamic, rhythm, harmonic progression and instrumentation, which in turn holistically define the energy level of any piece of music.

Legendary jazz musician, Mile Davis said “silence is more important than sound”.
